An experiment

Following a comment made by a helpful person which I read on egl recently, I wanted to test the theory that a 1950's style 'bullet' bra (like the one below) is the best type of fit for JSKs.

Photobucket

Photo from the What Katy Did website. Just to give you an idea of the type I mean.

The original commenter said that this type lifts your bust up to the point where it would be if it were smaller. It is also wire less, avoiding the pancake~like effect.

Me and Kyra set off to find What Katy Did in Portobello road, alas as it is rather prudishly considered 'adult' content by my browser, I cannot provide a link. They are quite a famous stockist of vintage style lingerie. It is tucked in a shopping centre next to the market itself.

The shopgirls were very helpful and friendly and the range of sizes was excellent. I picked up a peach silk one at the price of 29.50 GDP.

It looks pretty wierd and pointy when you put it on. But it really does the job. Excess boobage is not magically done away with, but the way they sit is far more flattering. Boob loaf is done away with and is replaced with two distinct breasts instead.

All in all, a success!

Lolol I wish this thing had a sterling sign button!

I think the shorter fringe looks great on you, and as they look bad on alot of people you should embrace it!

I don't think I have enough boobs to warrant a boob loaf, so does that mean it won't do much in my case??

If you would prefer a more defined look it could be worth a try! Or you could get some saucy bridal things instead...

Everyone needs a frill injection from time to time, otherwise your lace leves fall dangerously low!

I think Kyra was organising a Golden Hind meet in the future (ps invite Mr Pear...)

I have been wearing mine all day today (sorry..possibly TMI!) and I am amazed at how comfortable it is.

I didn't realise they were still sold in ordinary outlets, thanks I will check those out!

I must try this D: Not that I have much boobage, but they sometimes look mashed down with the tighter JSKs I have.

Hehe mashed is a good way to describe it.

I have some larger Meta JSKs, which should fit me perfectly and I still have boob crush problem. I think it's the way they are cut.

The difference is is really quite amazing, I have a IW red set that I hadn't worn because it looked so squashed and the bra makes it look so much better!

I am not sure if What Katy Did ship abroad, let me know if you need a hand. You did such a good job with my parasol before (plus I will be able to get more free catalogues from them...)

OMG I love What Katy did. I've secretly been coveting a bulletbra for a while now. So good for period films. I've got their catalouge- great naughty coffeetable viewing. They are supposed to be so great and supportive (according to diehard fans) you can wear them as sportsbras! Scrumptious stuff.

I have serious boob loaf issues even on loose dresses just because my boobs are quite large, i'll have to try this when I have spare cash! Thanks for the tip!

I have dresses that I was unable to wear because they looked so unflattering and they look so much better with the bra on.

If you were able to get to the physical shop, bring a dress and try one on underneath it to see if it works! the shopgirls were very friendly and helped me with the right size and such.

Bullet bras are FTW - as are girdles and seamed stockings.

And it's www.whatkatiedid.com

Stockings and Romance (stockingsandromance.co.uk) are good too but they're useless to deal with direct, tried once and their comms are fail, so I'd go via Nikki at nikitasablier.com (also; mates rates!)
